The Suggestions page in Pageloop helps you turn valuable team conversations from Slack into actionable documentation tasks. It captures ideas for new articles or updates so you never miss an opportunity to improve your knowledge base.
Before you begin, you must connect and configure your Slack workspace. After the initial setup, it may take 24-48 hours for the first suggestions to appear. Pageloop typically scans for suggestions around midnight, so you should see new items each morning.
Accessing and Reviewing Suggestions
You can find your suggestions by navigating to the Suggestions tab from the left-hand menu. The page is organized into tabs to help you manage suggestions by their status: 'Newly Detected', 'Accepted', and 'Ignored'.
Click on any suggestion card to see a detailed view. Here, you can review:
What changed: A summary of the potential product change.
AI Reasoning: An explanation for why the suggestion was created.
Affected Articles: A list of existing articles that might need updates.
Source Logs: The original Slack messages that triggered the suggestion.
After reviewing a suggestion, you can navigate to other tabs like 'Accepted' to see items you have already decided to work on.
Acting on a Suggestion
Suggestions are of two types - Update and create. Pageloop suggests updates to existing articles as well as new article to create.
The following describes how you act on an "Update" suggestion.
Once you've reviewed a suggestion and are ready to proceed, follow these steps:
From the 'Newly Detected' tab, open the suggestion you want to work on and click the Continue to Edit button in the top right corner.
You will be taken to the 'Find Updates' screen. The Title and Release Notes are pre-populated based on the suggestion's content. You can edit these fields, add additional images, or even record a product flow with the Chrome extension to provide more detail.
When you are satisfied with the information, click Find Updates to begin the scan for impacted articles.
Working on "Create" suggestions is quite similar - you have the option to record a flow to provide screenshots and additional context, as well as to modify product notes.
Tips and Troubleshooting
Private Channels: To get suggestions from private Slack channels, you must invite the Pageloop bot into that channel.
Notifications: New suggestions will trigger a notification in the Slack channel you designated during the integration setup. Any changes to the notification channel must be made in the Slack integration settings.
Missing Suggestions: If you notice suggestions are not appearing, double-check your Slack integration settings to ensure the correct channels are being monitored.
Next Steps
After you click 'Find Updates', Pageloop will generate a set of proposed changes for the relevant articles. To learn how to manage these changes, see our guide on reviewing and applying article updates.
